Transport Gets Stuck In Port Hope

In Local, News

A transport carrying construction material went into the ditch on Monday morning.
The transport was delivering construction material on Hayward Street to build a platform for a crane during clean-up of the Port Hope harbour and low-level radioactive waste.
Communication spokesperson for the Port Hope Area Initiative Bill Daly said, “this vehicle is delivering some construction material to build a platform for a crane.”
“The crane will be used to install a wave attenuator in the harbour as part of the PHAI cleanup.”
While turning around the driver went into the ditch.
“PHAI contractors transporting low-level radioactive waste are trained and must follow designated construction routes. This vehicle was just a delivery of lumber and not a PHAI truck carrying historic waste.
