Transport Fire On Highway 401

Thick black smoke could be seen for kilometres after the back wheels of a transport caught fire in the westbound lanes of Highway 401 around 12:30 p.m. on July 30, 2018 between Cobourg and Port Hope.
The back wheels of the transport were engulfed in flames when crews from Cobourg Fire Department and Hamilton Township arrived on scene.
Two westbound lanes were shut down as a result of the fire. Crews knocked down the fire quickly the back of the transport which was carrying sand was heavily damaged.
