Glorious But Hot Day To Celebrate Canada’s Birthday In Cobourg

In Editor Choice, Local, News

The hot, humid weather appeared to keep the numbers down for this years Canada Day and attendance at the Waterfront Festival, but the numbers have yet to be tallied.

Canada’s 151th birthday was celebrated with a parade down King Street to Victoria Park.

The Concert Band of Cobourg played the national anthem before the dignitaries spoke.  Before the Concert Band could play their second number, “Happy Birthday” a magician performed a number of magic tricks.

After it was over, Canadian cupcakes where handed out.

In other areas people were enjoying the hot weather by taking a boat ride on Lake Ontario to try and keep cool, or at least have fun.
