Drone Photos and Video of Wellington Street Apartment Fire in Port Hope

In Editor Choice, Local, News, Photo Gallery

Today’s Northumberland got a overhead view of the damage to a Wellington Street apartment building following a devastating fire on Thursday afternoon.
Officials have started the fire started in a third floor apartment before spreading to the roof, engulfing it within a very short time.
Tenants have not been allowed inside the building and there has been no response from officials whether the building is salvageable.
Port Hope Deputy Police Chief Darren Strongman confirmed the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office has completed their investigation and has ruled the fire was accidental, but has refused to comment whether there is a separate police investigation.
In the aerial photos it’s clear the damage to the third floor apartments.
It appears the damage to other departments may have been caused when the ceiling collapsed following the fire in the roof.
Some of the apartments appear to have very little smoke and fire damage, while others are destroyed.
