Habitat for Humanity Northumberland Launches 25th Anniversary Fundraising Campaign!

In Charity, Local

On October 28th, 2023, Habitat for Humanity Northumberland launched the annual anniversary fundraising campaign which will run from October 28th until November 21st. Since it is their silver 25th anniversary, the aim is much higher than before.

For the past 5 years, Habitat Northumberland has commemorated their anniversary with a non-gala gala fundraiser that has raised over $125,000 towards local build projects. Each year,
they aim to raise the equivalent of that year’s anniversary number in the same number of days.

Now Habitat Northumberland is building its largest single project, a 7-unit net-zero townhome development in Baltimore, which broke ground in the spring. In addition to this project, Habitat Northumberland also broke ground for a single detached unit in Cobourg in July. Combined they have more units under construction than ever before.

Habitat Northumberland is happy to announce that they have an anonymous donor who is willing to contribute up to $25,000 in matching dollars towards the campaign. In order to receive the matching $25,000, Habitat Northumberland needs to raise $25,000. So that’s where local businesses, organizations and individuals come in. It’s a tall order and they have 25 days to raise it.

The campaign will recognize sponsors starting October 28th until November 21st. This date is significant because it is also the day before National Housing Day, which helps bring awareness to the need for affordable housing in our community.

There are 4 levels of sponsorship and Habitat Northumberland has already secured support from Part Time CFO Services, Spoolon, Ganaraska Financial, Stadtke Plumbing and Heating, ACME Electric, Robyn Mumford Real Estate, Terry & Phyllis White, and Lauria Autogroup.
