Quinte West OPP – Driver Charged with Impaired Driving, Possession of Scheduled Substance and Fail to Comply (Name Released)

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in an impaired driving investigation.

On October 15, 2023, at approximately 1:00 p.m., officers responded to a traffic complaint on Hamilton Road, Quinte West. An investigation led to the driver being arrested.

Dustin DUPONT, 30 years old from Quinte West, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – Alcohol or drugs
  • Possession of a schedule 1 substance – Opioid
  • Fail to comply with probation – Two counts

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on November 2, 2023. Additionally, the vehicle was impounded for seven days, and their licence was suspended for 90 days.
