Share Your Thoughts on Child Care Needs in Northumberland County

In Local

Parents, caregivers and those planning a family in Northumberland are invited to share their thoughts on child care needs and experiences by completing Northumberland County’s online survey by Friday, May 19th for a chance to win a $25 gift card. The feedback gathered from this online needs assessment survey will help shape current and future local child care services in Northumberland.

The Northumberland County Early Years team is conducting this survey in follow up to their first assessment survey conducted in early 2022.

“Even within the past year since our previous assessment, local demand for child care continues to rise in Northumberland,” states County Early Years Manager Lesley Patterson. “At the same time, many child care providers are also faced with the widespread workforce shortage that is currently impacting the Early Years sector across the province. With the high demand in our community and limited resources available, the goal of this survey is assess the top needs and priorities of local families, caregivers, and soon-to-be parents, to ensure we continue to direct our resources and services to the areas of greatest need in our community.’

The data collected from the community during this assessment will inform the development of Northumberland County’s Early Years business plans and long-term strategies, which guide the vision, goals, and service delivery model for child care and early years services throughout Northumberland.

The online survey takes approximately ten minutes to complete. Those who complete the survey by Friday, May 19th will be entered to win a $25 gift card.
