City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Arrest Made in Assault Investigation (Name Released)

Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a driver who was wanted on numerous charges.

Just after 3:00 pm on January 3, 2023 officers while on patrol in Fenelon Falls observed a person driving who was known to be wanted on a warrant.  This warrant had been issued stemming from an assault investigation which had occurred on November 2, 2022 in Bobcaygeon.

A traffic stop was initiated and the wanted persons identity was confirmed. As a result of the investigation Jason Fountain, 46 years-of-age of Kawartha Lakes, has been charged with

–      Assault Causing Bodily Harm

–      Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 3

–      Operation While Prohibited x 2

The accused has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on a later date.
