Northumberland OPP – Fatal Snowmobile Collision in Alnwick/Haldimand Township

(ALNWICK HALDIMAND, ON) – On March 3rd 2022, at approximately 9:00 p.m., members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), as well as Alnwick Haldimand Township Fire Department, and Northumberland County EMS responded to a fatal snowmobile collision in Alnwick Haldimand.

The collision occurred on the OFSC trail 108, east of Morris Road in the area of County Rd 45.  As a result of the collision, Steven JOHNSTON (age 39) from Cramahe Township was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The section of the trail system was closed while members of the OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) attended the scene to conduct an investigation into the cause of the collision.
