Winter Family Fun On Rice Lake Near Bewdley

In Local, Weather

It was a beautiful day to be on Rice Lake on Sunday, January 16, 2022.

Many family activities were taking place just off the shoreline of Bewdley.

A number of avid motorcycle ice racers from around the area brought their vehicles on the ice and created a oval and long track down the south side of the lake.

Eric Etches from Hamilton Township gave tips to his six year old son Connor as he raced around the ice track.

Connor also races on dirt but this is his second year on the ice and his father said he absolutely loves it and is a quick learner.

A bit over from where the motorcycles were was a Bowmanville family playing a game of hockey just off the shoreline.

The hardest part about playing hockey on a frozen lake is skating after a puck if you miss a pass.

With little snow as of Sunday, there were few snowmobiles on the Lake, but as we’ve had extreme cold temperatures, Rice Lake was perfect for any ice activity.
