Cobourg Police – Man Charged with Impaired Driving

Man charged with impaired driving after police conducted a traffic stop.

In the early morning hours of Friday, December 10, 2021, police observed a vehicle driving fast than the posted speed limit.

Police conducted a traffic stop. The driver failed a roadside screening and was taken to the police station.

Further testing confirmed he had more than the legal amount of alcohol in his system.

As a result, 26-year-old Gregory Joel ALLEN of Clifford, Ontario was arrested and charged with the following offence:

1. Impaired operation – over 80 contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

The vehicle was impounded. The accused driver’s licence was suspended, and he was released on an undertaking with a court date in January.
