Jungle Cat World Gets Ready For Halloween in Orono

In Editor Choice, Local, Photo Gallery

Jungle Cat World turned into Pumpkin Cat World on Friday, October 22, 2021 as a number of animals were given pumpkins.

Lions, tigers, wolves, bobcats, ocelot, Amur leopard, arctic wolf, hyena and Canadian lynx were given pumpkins for a enrichment treat on Friday.

Each year they are treated with pumpkins thanks to Cobourg resident Corey Evans who has been bringing pumpkins to Jungle Cat World for the last six years..

It’s enrichment for the animals as they get to play and eat them.

Jungle Cat World is having it’s Second Prowl at the Park Halloween event on October 30 and 31.

Enjoy trick or treating with family at Jungle Cat World (JCW) from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Jungle Cat World organized this event last year in 2020 while COVID precautions made some families weary of door-to-door trick or treating.

Prowl at the Park provides kids in the area with the opportunity to Trick or Treat while seeing all your favourite animals at JCW.

Through online ticket sales ONLY, there will be guided tours with treat stations into the park every 15 minutes. Tickets are available through JCW’s website https://junglecatworld.com/rate.html

See some of the predators get fed while getting peanut free goodies and maybe even hear the wolves howl across the park as the sun begins to set. Tours will last for approximately 45 minutes – 1 hour.

Tickets are $20.00 per adult, $10.00 per child, $15.00 for students, teens, and seniors. Under the age of 3 is free!

Masks will be required, and costumes highly encouraged!

Limited space is available to ensure we are meeting capacity requirements and guests are recommended to arrive 5-10 minutes earlier than their scheduled tour time.

Our Education Centre will also have some reptiles available to meet and learn about following the tour.

JCW’s van will also be parked and ready to accept food donations for Feed the Need in Durham.

Last year, over 100 pounds was donated to families from the event.
