Cobourg Police Services Board (CPSB) has scheduled a special meeting to decide on a body-worn camera program.

At the regularly scheduled CPSB meeting on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, the Board deferred a decision on a body-worn camera program until all board members could be present. A special meeting will be held to discuss and decide the next step on body-worn cameras in Cobourg.

The special meeting will take place on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at 11:00 am at Venture 13, CPS Corporate Services.

The CPSB takes their role in community safety and wellbeing seriously. Deploying body-worn cameras would significantly impact the operations of the police service, interactions with community members, and the budget.

“With the whole board present, we will discuss the merits and challenges of a body-worn camera program before voting on the concept of body-worn cameras in Cobourg.” Chair Dean Pepper, Cobourg Police Services Board.
