Coast Guard to The Rescue After Boat Capsizes Off Grafton

Members of the Canadian Coast Guard helped a boater in distress off of Grafton on Lake Ontario on Saturday, August 14, 2021.

At approximately 2:15 p.m. emergency services including the Alnwick/Haldimand Township Fire Department, Northumberland OPP and Northumberland County Paramedics along with members of the Canadian Coast Guard based in Cobourg responded to a boater in distress off of Grafton.

There were a number of calls on a catamaran that had flipped over and one person on the vessel.

Members of the Coast Guard arrived and approximately 30-minutes later the boat was flipped back over and the operator took the boat to the nearest shoreline.

There were no injuries in the incident.
