Northumberland OPP – Three Individuals Arrested After Weapons Incident

(HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On Tuesday March 2, 2021, at approximately 5:30 am, members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to incident involving a weapon at an address on Arrowhead Road, located northeast of the rural community of Bewdley.


Officers arrived on scene and found three individuals at the residence. One person was transported to a local area hospital by paramedics to be treated for an injury sustained from an alleged altercation involving a knife, but was released a short while later.

As a result of the investigation the following three individuals all from Hamilton Township, Ontario, were arrested.


Jacqueline HARTWELL (age 28) has been charged with:
Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court (three counts)
Assault


Amy BYERS (age 48) has been charged with:
Failure to comply with undertaking (two counts)
Aggravated assault
Assault with a weapon


Michael BYERS (age 41) has been charged with:
Failure to comply with undertaking (three counts)

All three accused were held in custody for a bail court hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on March 2, 2021. They remain in custody with court dates scheduled for later this month
