Northumberland OPP – Local Resident Charged With Impaired

Members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle on Oliphant Street in the town of Brighton on Friday March 27, 2020 at approximately 9:55 pm. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

William LAWRENCE (age 69) of Brighton, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration – 80 plus

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Co bourg on May 20, 2020.

The Northumberland County OPP reminds motorists that any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements so please plan ahead to arrange a safe ride home.
