In Editor Choice, Local

A family of six is homeless after a fire consumed their home in Hamilton Township early Sunday, March 22, 2020.

All three stations from Hamilton Township Fire Department responded to the address on Burnham Street North, approximately two kilometres north of Dale Road.

The glow of flames lit up the night sky as fire crews got near the address.

A family of six from three generations escaped the blaze as firefighters arrived on scene to a fully engulfed home.

Fire Chief Kelly Serson said it’s believed the fire started from an open door to the wood stove at the rear of the residence.

The building and contents were not insured but there is a Go Fund Me for the family.
