Cobourg Man Charged with Breach
Cobourg Police charged a 38-year-old Cobourg man with breaching a release order.
On August 16, 2026, while on patrol in a residential area of Cobourg, police observed a vehicle associated with a man wanted on a committal warrant. Police were also aware of a recent report that the man had breached his release order by attending a residence he was prohibited from attending.
Officers attended the residence and conducted a door knock. Police located the man hiding between two mattresses and took him into custody without incident. As a result, the 38-year-old Cobourg man was charged with two counts of Failing to Comply with a Release Order. The accused was held in custody pending a show cause hearing.
Cobourg Man Charged with Drug and Liquor Offences
Cobourg Police charged a 48-year-old Cobourg man with drug and liquor offences following a property check in the downtown area.
On August 14, 2026, at approximately 8:20 a.m., while conducting a property check in the area of Division Street and Chapel Street in Cobourg, police observed an individual on the property with open alcohol and suspected illicit drugs in plain view.
As a result of the investigation, a 48-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Oxycodone), Engage in Prohibited Activity, and Having Open Liquor in a Public Place. The accused was released on an undertaking and issued two Part III summonses.
Cobourg Man Charged with Multiple Probation and Weapons Offences
Cobourg Police charged a 48-year-old Cobourg man with multiple probation and weapons offences following a patrol in the downtown area.
On August 14, 2026, at approximately 3:00 p.m., while on general patrol, police observed an individual in the company of a person he was prohibited from associating with under the conditions of his probation order.
As a result, the 48-year-old Cobourg man was arrested. During the arrest, police located three prohibited weapons, including two spring-assisted knives and a set of brass knuckles. The accused was subsequently charged with seven counts of Fail to Comply with Probation, three counts of Possession of a Prohibited Device, and three counts of Possession of a Prohibited Weapon. The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Cobourg Man Charged Following Disturbance Investigation
Police have charged a 28-year-old Cobourg man following a disturbance investigation and a subsequent breach of court-ordered conditions.
On August 14, 2026, at approximately 4:45 p.m., police received several reports of a man causing a disturbance in the area of King Street and Division Street in Cobourg. Police located the man and learned he had smashed a front door window of a nearby building before being observed yelling, throwing, and kicking property belonging to a nearby business.
As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with two counts of Mischief, Cause Disturbance, and two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation. The accused was held for a bail hearing and was subsequently released on a court order with conditions.
Cobourg Man Charged with Fail to Comply, Fail to Comply with Probation
On August 16, 2026, at approximately 4:15 p.m., while on general patrol, police observed the same man breaching the conditions of the recently imposed court order. The 28-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with Fail to Comply with a Release Order and two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation. The accused was held for a bail hearing.
Police charged two Cobourg men following a trespassing investigation
On August 15, 2026, at approximately 12:20 a.m., while on general patrol, police observed a group of individuals trespassing on a property in the area of King Street and McGill Street in Cobourg.
As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance and Trespassing. The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
A 34-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance, Trespassing, Fail to Comply with an Undertaking, and three counts of Fail to Comply with Probation. The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
