This March Break is different then any other one.
Today’s Northumberland took a driver around the Cobourg and Port Hope area to see what people were doing.
There were many people out walking enjoying the weather along the beach area in Cobourg.
Either looking for buried treasure, taking a walk along the pier or a stroll along the boardwalk.
A few blocks away to the west a group of friends were fishing along Cobourg Creek catching steelhead trout.
People out for walks stopped by both the Cobourg and Port Hope Library to find out COVID-19 has forced the temporary closure of both facilities.
The Ganaraska River was lined with anglers along Mill Street South during the day.
The Jack Burger Sports Complex was also closed.
At area grocery stores, people still seem to be hoarding toilet paper along with other items including bread.
Davis Your Independent Grocer on Toronto Road still had toilet paper, but Metro and Wal-Mart in Cobourg seemed to be out.
A worker at Wal-Mart said on Saturday morning there was a line-up of customers and when the doors opened at 7 a.m. the supply of toilet paper was gone within the hour.
