Breaking News – Doors Locked At Cat and The Fiddle In Cobourg

In Editor Choice, Local

The doors were locked at The Cat And The Fiddle on Friday, July 19, 2019.

After receiving several reports of the popular restaurant was closed, Today’s Northumberland went to the business on Covert Street in Cobourg.

The front door was locked, but there was no sign on the door stating anything.

One delivery person was at the back door of the business and stated there appeared to be no one inside and the doors were locked.

John Lee is a board member from the Phoenix Genesis Group which owns the building but not the business, spoke to Today’s Northumberland just after arriving at Cat and the Fiddle.

Lee arrived back in Canada late Wednesday night, came to Cat and the Fiddle for lunch on Friday to find the business closed.

“I came here together with a friend and there is nobody here.”

“I’m clueless to why this has happened,” said Lee.

“Nobody told me. I wasn’t forewarned. I’m shocked.”

Phoenix Genesis Group has multiple shareholders which own a number of buildings.

Today’s Northumberland will provide updates as they become available.
