Cobourg Police – Impaired Driving Arrest

On April 20, 2019 at approximately 1:50 am police attended an establishment in the east end of Cobourg for a noise complaint.
Upon arrival, police observed the accused drive his motor vehicle a short distance and suddenly stop. Investigation revealed that the accused was impaired by alcohol and was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The accused was transported to the Cobourg Police Service where two samples of his breath were obtained. The accused provided two samples of his breath that were more than double the legal limit.

The accused, Michel Downey, 24 years of age from Harwood, was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor vehicle and Over 80 mg. The accused was released from the Service with a Promise to Appear and issued the requisite driver’s licence suspension.
