They weren’t fireworks that ushered in Canada Day in Cobourg.

Well, for the most part, they weren’t.

Although a handful of fireworks briefly lit up the sky near the Victoria Park Campground shortly after midnight, they were quickly overshadowed by a spectacular lightning display that illuminated the night sky as thunderstorms rolled through the area, providing Mother Nature’s own dramatic start to Canada Day.
