Cobourg Police – Cobourg Woman Facing Theft Charges (No Name Released)

A 36-year-old Cobourg woman is facing charges after police responded to a theft report.

On November 17, 2025, police responded to a report of a theft that occurred earlier at a retail location on Elgin Street West in Cobourg. At approximately 11:27 a.m., a woman entered the store, selected and concealed merchandise in a bag and exited without making any attempt to pay.

Police reviewed video surveillance and identified the suspect, who was also wanted in connection with a previous theft at the same location on November 15, 2025.

The suspect was located during a general patrol and arrested without incident. The 36-year-old Cobourg woman was charged with two counts of Theft Under $5,000The accused was being held for a bail hearing and remanded with a court date on November 19, 2025.

The Cobourg Police Service notes that since November 2024, the accused has been arrested 10 times and charged with 10 offences. In total, police have had 26 interactions with the accused in the past year.
