Notice Regarding Brook Road Creek in Cobourg

In City Hall, Local

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES: Earlier this afternoon, during drilling activities for the new sanitary sewer line on Brook Road North, drilling fluid from the equipment leaked into the soil.

Town staff were immediately made aware, and operations were shut down. Environmental Services staff have consulted with the Spills Action Centre, a branch of Ministry of the Environment, and the clean-up process is underway.

The Ministry of the Environment is coming tomorrow to assist with the clean up, and the area has been barricaded.

If you live in the area, please do not allow dogs to play in or drink from Brook Creek.
