Cobourg Police – Cobourg Woman Charged with Flight from Police, Dangerous Operation (No Name Released)

A 43-year-old Cobourg woman is facing charges after fleeing from a traffic stop on Wednesday night.

On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at approximately 7:40 p.m., police were conducting speed enforcement on King Street East in Cobourg. Police attempted to stop a vehicle for a speeding infraction, but the driver drove off, trying to evade the police. Officers disengaged from following the vehicle when the driver began driving in a manner that was dangerous to those in the area.

Following an investigation, the driver was identified, and it was determined that her child had been in the vehicle with her. The 43-year-old woman from Cobourg was arrested and charged with: Speeding, Flight from Peace Officer, Dangerous Operation, Obstruct Peace Officer, Fail to Provide Necessaries of Life – Child, and Driving While Under Suspension. She was released with a future court date.
