Video – Not Just Salmon at Corbett’s Dam in Port Hope

In Local, Photo Gallery

It isn’t just salmon that are hanging out at Corbett’s dam in Port Hope.

On Wednesday, August 27, 2025 along with the salmon there were two Great Blue Heron’s and a few cormorants.

While one of the herons stayed above the dam, the other seemed to be content amongst the rapids in the sanctuary.

One of the cormorants however decided to go for a stroll up a log to the top of the dam rather than fly.

The main run of salmon hasn’t yet been up the river, but with the upcoming rain over the next few days that may change.
