Speed Reduction Imposed Along King Street East Community Safety Zones in Cobourg

In City Hall, Local

The Town of Cobourg would like to inform the community of a speed reduction on King Street East from D’Arcy Street to Maplewood Boulevard.

There are two Community Safety Zone’s along King Street East, between D’Arcy Street and Maplewood Blvd. A speed reduction is being established as part of the Town of Cobourg’s commitment to enhancing the safety of both pedestrians and drivers. The speed limit within this area has been lowered to 40km/h and is enforceable all year round.

Cobourg Police Service reminds drivers to slow down and be observant around schools, crossing guard locations, local parks, and school buses. Community Safety Zones surround most schools and parks; as such, all Provincial Offence Notice fines are doubled for breaking the rules of the road.
