In Police Blotter

On Saturday, May 31st, 2025 at 6:05 PM, the Kawartha Lakes Police Service responded to an urgent call for help after a bystander witnessed a male jump off of a Water Street bridge in Lindsay, ON into the Scugog River.

The complainant then advised that the male was floating downstream and could be heard yelling for help.

Police responded immediately and observed a male struggling to stay afloat in the middle of the river.

Two officers immediately entered into the cold water and swam out to the male with ropes and floatation devices, while assisting officers pulled the male and the rescuing officers back to safety.
