Peterborough County OPP – Single Vehicle Collision Leads to Arrest (Name Released)

Officers from the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged an individual with impaired driving after receiving a call regarding a single vehicle collision.

On May 17, 2025, shortly after 7:00pm, Peterborough County OPP Officers were dispatched to a report of a collision that took place on County Road 6 in Douro-Dummer Township. Officers were informed that a vehicle had entered the ditch, and another vehicle had arrived and was providing the driver transportation. A description of both the driver and the vehicle were provided.

A short while later, OPP officers located the driver and after a short conversation with them, determined them to be impaired. The driver was at that point arrested.

Mitchell HOLDEN (age 29) of Oakville, ON., was arrested and charged with;

·      Operation while impaired

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Fail to report accident

·      Fail to remain

·      Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on June 24, 2025
