Peterborough Police – Four People Charged with the Death of Peterborough Man (Names Released)

Four people are facing charges in connection with the death of a 41-year-old Peterborough man over the May long weekend.

At approximately 9:50pm on Sunday, May 18, 2025, officers were called to the area of Brock Street and George Street North.  Upon arrival, officers learned that there had been a verbal argument that escalated to a physical altercation between the victim and a larger group. The victim was taken to hospital and on Monday, May 19, 2025, was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries.

Through investigation four suspects were identified. It is believed the parties had ongoing interactions throughout the evening and that this was a targeted incident.

One suspect was located by detectives about 1:00am on Monday, May 19, 2025, and taken into custody.

As a result of the investigation, 26-year-old Matthew Janssen-Supernault was arrested and charged with:

  • Aggravated Assault

The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on Monday, May 19, 2025.

Two more suspects were arrested by detectives on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.

24-year-old Dylan Moffatt was charged with:

  • Manslaughter

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, Wednesday, May 21, 2025

35-year-old Matthew Smith was charged with:

  • Manslaughter

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

A fourth accused, 24-year-old Noah Stetski, turned himself in to police on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.  He was arrested and charged with:

  • Manslaughter

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, Wednesday, May 21, 2025.
