Rebound Child & Youth Services Northumberland is thrilled to announce the fourth annual Ride for Rebound, a major fundraising event in partnership with Play It Again Sports Cobourg. This year’s event, taking place on September 21st, 2024, promises to be an exciting day for cyclists of all levels and a crucial initiative to support the mental wellness of children, youth, and families in Northumberland County.

For the 4th consecutive year, Cobourg Police Service Chief Paul VandeGraaf is committed to riding the challenging 80 km route. Alongside Chief VandeGraaf, community cyclists will tackle routes ranging from 10 km to 80 km, each path winding through the picturesque landscapes of Northumberland County. This event is more than just a ride; it’s a community rallying for accessible and effective mental health support for young people.

“Every kilometre we ride is a step towards a brighter future for our children and youth,” said Chief Paul VandeGraaf. “Mental health resources are critical, and through this event, we aim to bring attention and funding to the essential services provided by Rebound.”

The Ride for Rebound is the product of a strong partnership between Rebound and the Cobourg Police Service, united by the shared goal of fostering mental and emotional well-being among the youth in our community. This partnership underscores the importance of early intervention and the lasting positive impact it can have.

Rebound is dedicated to providing comprehensive support through various programs, including mental health counselling, youth justice diversion, family wellness initiatives, and youth homelessness prevention programs. These services are designed to nurture growth and help young people reach their full potential.

“Investing in our youth’s mental health is investing in our community’s future,” says Carol Beauchamp, Interim Executive Director of Rebound. “Each ride participant and supporter is making a significant difference in the lives of young people across Northumberland.”

How to Participate in the Ride for Rebound
Cyclists are encouraged to join the ride by choosing a route that matches their ability and committing to a fundraising goal. This year, the event aims to raise $25,000, with all proceeds directed towards enhancing Rebound’s counselling programs, a cornerstone of their mental health services.

Sponsorship Opportunities
Local businesses and corporations are invited to support this impactful event through sponsorship. The Ride for Rebound offers a unique opportunity for sponsors to align with a cause that resonates deeply within the community.
