Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Theft and Possession of Fentanyl (No Name Released)

A 19-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after police were called to a theft from a local business Wednesday night.

On Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at approximately 7:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the
northwest end of Cobourg for a report of theft. Information provided indicated a man had exited the business with a pair of shoes, making no attempt to pay.

Police located the man a short time later. Upon the arrest, he was found to be in possession of a small quantity of fentanyl.

As a result of the police investigation, the 19-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of a Schedule 1 substance.

The accused was released on the strength of an undertaking with a future court date in August 2024.
