Update – Cobourg Police Issue Release Following Yesterdays Suspicious Fire

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of a fire after responding to a call Wednesday morning.

On Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at approximately 6:00 a.m., police responded to a report of a fire behind a business on Strathy Road. The Cobourg Fire Department extinguished the fire, and Scenes of Crime Officers processed the scene. No injuries were reported.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are working to identify a person of interest. Any eyewitnesses with information are asked to call police at 905-372-6821 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS or visiting stopcrimehere.ca. Tips received through Crime Stoppers may be eligible for a cash reward.
