Alnwick/Haldimand Township firefighters were called to battle a fully engulfed hay baler fire on Tuesday afternoon, July 7, 2026.

At approximately 4:30 p.m., crews from the Alnwick/Haldimand Township Fire Department were dispatched to Station Road near North Shore Road (by Lake Ontario) after reports of a hay baler on fire.

When firefighters arrived, the baler was already completely consumed by flames. Crews quickly worked to extinguish the blaze and prevent the fire from spreading to surrounding fields.
