Peterborough Police – Warrant Arrest, Robbery Arrest, Theft Arrest (No Names Released)

Theft Arrest

A 34-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident at a business Monday afternoon.

At approximately 1:30pm on June 1, 2026, officers were called to the area of Lansdowne Street West and Brealey Drive about a theft from a store. Upon arrival to the area officers spotted a man matching the description given to police on a bicycle.  They saw the man get off the bike and attempt to hide behind a bush before taking him in custody.

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft under $5000 – shoplifting X2
  • Fail to comply with probation order X2
  • Enter premises when entry prohibited (Trespass to Property Act)

The accused is currently bound by two probation orders with the following condition: to not attend the business where the incident happened and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, June 2, 2026.

 

Robbery Arrest

An 18-year-old Peterborough male is facing charges after an incident in a parking lot Sunday evening.

At approximately 8:30pm on May 31, 2026, officers were called to a parking lot in the Lansdowne Street and The Parkway about a disturbance.  Upon arrival, officers learned that a man had been robbed by a group of teens after an altercation inside the store.  The incident continued outside the store with the suspects kicking and punching the victim’s vehicle. Officers canvassed the area, located one suspect and took him into custody.  Some of the property was found and returned to the victim.

As a result, an 18-year-old Peterborough male was arrested and charged with:

  • Robbery with Theft
  • Mischief Under $ 5,000

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on Monday, June 1, 2026.

Warrant Arrest

A 37-year-old Peterborough man wanted on two warrants was  located and arrested Monday by Community F.I.R.S.T. officers.

At approximately 10:00am on June 1, 2026, officers on general patrol in the George Street North and Townsend Street area spotted the man and took him into custody on the strength of the warrants  for failing to appear in court X2, failing to comply with probation order and failing to comply with appearance notice.

The man was held in custody and appeared in court on Monday, June 1, 2026.
