Photo Gallery – Six Cygnets Thriving at Nawautin Sanctuary Near Grafton

In Local, Photo Gallery

The newest residents of Nawautin Sanctuary appear to be settling in well.

The six cygnets, which hatched just a few days ago, have been staying close to their nest under the watchful eyes of their parents at the sanctuary south of Grafton.

On Saturday, May 30, 2026, the young swans ventured out for a brief paddle on the water, marking one of their first excursions away from the nest. Their parents remained close by throughout the outing, carefully monitoring the cygnets as they explored their surroundings.

The adventure was short-lived, however, as the family soon returned to the nest where the cygnets tucked back in under the protection and warmth of their parents.

The six hatchlings are believed to be the last newborn arrivals of the season at the sanctuary and continue to attract attention from visitors eager to catch a glimpse of the growing family.
