Coldest Night of the Year Walk Returns to Port Hope

Coldest Night of the Year Returns to Port Hope Saturday February 28 for our 12th Year.

Our Community Unites in Solidarity with Neighbours Experiencing Hurt, Hunger, and Homelessness.

CNOY is a national, family-friendly fundraising walk held in communities across Canada. Each February, participants step out into the cold to symbolically experience just a small part of what many vulnerable community members face every day. Walkers, volunteers, and donors come together to raise critical funds and awareness for local organizations doing frontline work, close to home.

Event Director, Lana Missen “As a longstanding event in Port Hope, we are grateful to once again come together as neighbours of all ages and backgrounds to walk, eat and celebrate together as we raise funds for Green Wood Coalition to continue the integral work of offering inclusive programming that meets everyone with dignity and respect.”

A second CNOY walk also takes place in Cobourg, where funds raised will support Hope and Light Urban Outreach.

Together, Port Hope and Cobourg will once again walk to show compassion, solidarity, and commitment to caring for our neighbours when they need it most.

CNOY PORT HOPE EVENTS CNOY Port Hope 2026 is supported by a series of community-building events, including:
• Five Countdown Dinners, generously sponsored by Don Emond – Assante Wealth Management

• Fundraising Kick-Off Party at Ganaraska Brewing Company, February 27 at 7pm, featuring: music by Cale Crowe, a live auction and door prizes

These events help build momentum, connection, and vital fundraising leading up to walk night.

In Port Hope, funds raised through CNOY 2026 will support Green Wood Coalition, an organization providing essential services, connection, and care for individuals facing homelessness, poverty, and social isolation in our community through programs like Whole & Well, Redpath, Art Wellness, and Peer Discussion Group in Port Hope and Cobourg.
