Video – Photo Gallery – Encapsulating Wonder of Mother Nature

The encapsulating beauty of the sun setting along Lake Ontario draws people in the summer and winter.

Thursday (January 8, 2026) was another gorgeous evening along the shoreline to embrace the spectacle with hundreds of waterfowl coming to the basin of Cobourg Harbour for the evening.

Everywhere you were at the end of the day, being down at the waterfront with the winter sun setting is like winning a lottery embracing what the world offers.

Taking a stroll along the ice covered beach, or walking your dog along the pier – just being there is what counts.

Two friends where taking selfies with a drone.

There is always of the fear of the unknown when people who visit our town put themselves in peril.

Two people walking along the edge of the pier might not have realized that one slip, and they would be in the frigid water – with maybe no way of getting out in time.

The waterfront is a beautiful area to end your day – just be careful that it’s only the day that ends while you visit.
