Video – Photo Gallery – First Night Celebrations in Cobourg Kick Off The New Year

In Editor Choice, Local, Photo Gallery

It was a beautiful winter’s evening to celebrate Cobourg’s First Night Celebrations on December 31, 2025.

There were so many things happening, so many smiling faces at the annual event at Rotary Harbourfront Rink.

Traditionally, there isn’t an abundance of snow, but this year was different with even some of the skaters lending a hand removing snow from the outdoor rink.

Due to the snow, if skating wasn’t in the cards for the young ones, there is always just playing in the snow.

Wagon rides around Victoria Park and the esplanade was a very popular event.

At times there was a light dusting of snow, and other times it was difficult to see Victoria Hall across the street.

But the one common factor everyone was having a good time.

Sharply at 9 p.m. fireworks lit up the sky over Cobourg Harbour ending the celebrations.

Welcome 2026!
