Video – Water Main Break Shuts Down Part of Walton Street in Port Hope

A water main break shut down part of Walton Street in Port Hope on Sunday, December 28, 2025.

The water main break was spotted on Sunday morning around 9 a.m. with water flowing from the side of the Walton Street bridge.

Walton Street was closed from Queen Street to Mill Street was closed while crews from the Port Hope Works Department and Behan Construction dug up the road and worked to repair the damage.

The Municipality of Port Hope has not released any information pertaining to the cause of the water main break.
