The spirit of the community once again came through in the 14th annual Queenies Toy Drive in Port Hope.

Queenies Bake Shop owner Adam Pearson and his staff gathered up thousands of presents for a photo on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at the store in downtown Port Hope.

With a beaming smile, Pearson said, “yet again, over and over, year after year, the community comes out and supports. They never cease to amaze me how much support they gave for all the kids in this area.”
The Toy Drive started on November 12 and ended on Saturday, December 13.

On Monday, representatives from the Highland Shores Children’s Aid Society will arrive to pickup the thousands of toys collected.

For every toy donated, Pearson purchases a toy of equal or greater value.

“It’s a two-for-one for the community and I think that’s part of the reason why it’s so popular.”

Books, basketballs, bikes, Barbie dolls and so much more was on display in Queenies Bake Shop on Sunday.

“I tell people that ask, to buy whatever they want. Because I’m going to match it and make sure everything is appropriate for all ages.”

Not knowing Queenies Bake Shop was closed on Sunday’s, a number of people came in to the store and were shocked to see toys literally everywhere in the store.

“It warms my heart to see what the community does. Thousands of toys – and it’s overwhelming for customers too.”
