NDATV Riders Donate to Student Nutrition Programs

In Community, Local

Local Northumberland District ATV Riders are driven to help fuel student learning in Northumberland County schools.

The Northumberland District ATV Riders Club (northumberlandatvriders.com) has generously donated $1,197.20 to Northumberland Food For Thought (NFFT) in support of Student Nutrition Programs (SP) across the county. The funds were raised at the club’s annual fundraising ride. The NDATV Riders Club has a strong and longstanding history of supporting NFFT.

“We’re so grateful for the NDATV Riders’ ongoing generosity to help ensure students in our community have the food they need to excel in school,” says Beth Koliny, SP Regional Coordinator for Peterborough Child & Family Centres and Committee Member for NFFT. “We truly value this partnership and want to thank all the club members for continuing their support.”

The Northumberland District ATV Riders Club always takes great pride in giving back to the community.

We really appreciate what Northumberland Food For Thought does to support school food programs and want to do what we can to help promote student nutrition and learning,” says Mike Ainsworth, President of the Northumberland District ATV Riders Club.

Northumberland Food For Thought is the non-profit community partnership that supports Student Nutrition Programs in Northumberland County. These free, voluntary programs provide nutritious food to thousands of students every day. “Research shows that student nutrition programs help support academic success by removing a major barrier to learning-hunger,” adds Kimberly Leadbeater, Registered Dietitian for Lakelands Public Health and Chair of NFFT.

Along with the support of area residents, businesses, and groups such as the Northumberland District ATV Riders Club, local Student Nutrition Programs also receive funding from the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services through its lead agency, Peterborough Child & Family Centres (PCFC).
