Cobourg Police – Incidents Include Theft, Possession Forged Document, Assault (No Names Released)

A 50-year-old man from Warkworth is facing theft and drug-related charges following an arrest on Friday.

On October 10, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., police responded to a theft that took place at a business on Elgin Street West in the Town of Cobourg. It was reported that a male had merchandise and fled the scene. Police located and arrested the suspect. A search incident to the arrest revealed a quantity of suspected cocaine as well as a fabricated Ontario driver’s licence.

As a result of the police investigation, a 50-year-old Warkworth man was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000, Possession of a forged document, and Possession of a Schedule I Substance.

The accused was released on an undertaking with a court date of December 3, 2025.

The Cobourg Police Service notes that since October 2024, the accused has been arrested nine times with 12 criminal charges. In total, police have had 21 interactions with the accused in the past year.


A 21-year-old female is facing charges after police responded to a report of shoplifting.

On October 11, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting call at a business near Division Street and Munroe Street in Cobourg. It was reported that a female left the store without paying for approximately $200 worth of merchandise. When confronted by staff, the female became assaultive.

As a result of the police investigation, a 21-year-old Cobourg woman was arrested and charged with assault and theft under $5,000. The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.


A 36-year-old woman is facing charges following an incident on Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m., police responded to a report of a suspect entering vehicles on Water Street in Cobourg.  The suspect was located in the vicinity and arrested.  As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old Cobourg woman was charged with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and fail to comply with probation order.  She was released with a future court date.
