The Town of Cobourg has an acting director of public works in the absence of Laurie Wills.

At the Sept. 24 council meeting, council received a there was a report dated that same day from Director of Public Works and Engineering Laurie Wills regarding the King Street West Culvert Replacement, but Mayor Lucas Cleveland called upon the “acting director” to speak about the report, after which he said “Mr. Hoekstra, very well stated and thanks for going into the details.”

There had been no announcement from the town regarding the change.

Manager of Communications Jenny Neutel confirmed this week Wills is away “temporarily” and that Terry Hoekstra, the deputy director of engineering, “is acting in her absence until her return to the office.”
