Peterborough County OPP – Fatal Collision Involving Motorcycle

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a single motorcycle collision that has resulted in a fatality.

On Friday, September 27, 2025, at approximately 5:20 p.m., Peterborough County OPP, Peterborough Fire Services, and Peterborough County-City Paramedics responded to a report of an individual who appeared to have been ejected from a motorcycle on County Road 2, near Bensfort Road.

Despite resuscitation efforts, the motorcyclist, a 69-year-old male from Hastings, was pronounced deceased on scene.

The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement and Technical Collision Investigation and Reconstruction teams. A section of County Road 2 was closed for several hours while emergency crews and investigators were on scene. The roadway has since re-opened.
