Northumberland OPP – Investigating Break and Enter in Brighton

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a break and enter in Brighton.

On September 21, 2025, at approximately 8:40 p.m., officers responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at a multi-unit residence on Meade Street.

The caller advised that two persons were attempting to break into their residence.

OPP arrived on scene and the involved males fled the location. The OPP Canine Unit (K9) and Emergency Response Team (ERT) were deployed to assist in the search; however, the individuals were not located.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) also attended the residence for non-serious injuries.

The OPP Forensic Identification Services (IDENT) also responded to assist with the investigation, which remains ongoing and is being continued by the Northumberland OPP Crime Unit.
