Video – Photo Gallery – Windy Weather Along the Lakeshore

In Local, Photo Gallery, Weather

It was a welcome change of weather on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 with strong winds coming into the area and cooler temperatures.

With the strong winds it somehow always attracts people to the lakeshore in the Cobourg area and there is usually always something taking place for people to see.

On sunny, warm days visitors come to the beach to take in a relaxing day, but when the sun isn’t there, it doesn’t stop people from visiting the east pier and watching the waves pound against the breakwall and shoot skyward. Unfortunately with that comes a mess of seaweed that has piled up along the pier.

Three people ventured out to enjoy an afternoon of sailing on Lake Ontario while members of the Canadian Coast Guard trained along the lakeshore.
