Northumberland OPP – Suspect Charged with Uttering Threats at Healthcare Facility (Name Released)

Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges against an individual following a report of a disturbance at a healthcare facility.

On August 11, 2025, at approximately 3:40 p.m., officers responded to a threats call at an address on Oliver Road, where a person was reportedly acting aggressively toward staff.

Upon arrival, police learned the individual had already left the scene. An investigation was initiated, and officers obtained a description of the suspect.

Later that evening, officers located the individual in the area of Front Street North and Bridge Street East where they were taken into custody.

As a result, Michael DINGMAN (59) of no fixed address, has been charged with:

Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm

Uttering threats to damage property

Failing to comply with a probation order

The accused was held for a bail hearing to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
