Peterborough County OPP – Head-On Collision Results in Serious Injuries

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews attended the scene of a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 28.

On Monday August 11, 2025, shortly after 5:00pm, the Peterborough County OPP received a call related to a two-vehicle head-on collision on Highway 28 near Jeff Road. The collision involved a red Jeep and a grey sport utility vehicle (SUV).

As a result of the collision, the driver of the grey SUV was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the red Jeep was transported by ORNGE Air to a Toronto area trauma centre.

Highway 28 remained closed for several hours while emergency crews dealt with the collision.

The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.

Anyone who may have witnessed or has video/dash camera footage of the collision and has not spoken with police is asked to contact the Peterborough County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
