Belleville Fire and Emergency Services Respond to Structure Fire

The Belleville Fire and Emergency Services – Fire Prevention Division investigated a structure fire that occurred in a single-family dwelling located on S John St.

Firefighters responded swiftly to the scene and contained the fire to an area within the kitchen.

The home was occupied at the time of the fire, and all occupants were able to exit the structure.

Damage to the house is estimated to be approximately $80,000.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind the community, if you are going to be using additional heating appliances such as space heaters, make sure to follow the manufacturers recommendations regarding clearances to combustibles and never leave them unattended.
